GANTH GOBHI/LUMP CABBAGE/KADAM/KHOLRABI/MONJI HAAK/vibsk-04

Ingredients :

1. Lump Cabbage (Ganth Gobhi) : 3 – 4 (with leaves)
2. Dried – Ginger Powder (saunth) : 2 tsp
3. Cumin Seeds : 1 tsp
4. Asafoetida : ½ tsp
5. Kashmiri Whole Red Chilli : 5 to 6
6. Salt : To Taste
7. Oil : 1 tbsp

Method :

In this Kashmiri recipe Lump Cabbage (Ganth Gobhi) is cooked with leaves.

  1. Wash Lump Cabbage, peel off rough outer layer and cut Lump Cabbage in slices. Roughly chop leaves also.
  2. Put cooking pot on medium flame. Add 1 tsp cooking oil.
  3. Add cumin seed, dried ginger powder, Kashmiri red chillies and asafetida in heated oil.
  4. Fry it a little and add Lump Cabbage slices first. When all slices are in, fry it for ½ minutes & then add leaves to the pot. Mix well.
  5. Add salt as per taste.
  6. After 2–3 minutes, add 3 glasses of water.
  7. Cover & cook for 5 minutes on high flame.
  8. After 5 minutes open the lid and stir well. Cover again & cook for 10 minutes on low flame or till Lump Cabbage slices are soft.
  9. To check that Lump Cabbage is cooked, cut it with spoon. If it cuts smoothly, its done.

Plate Kashmiri Lump Cabbage with steamed rice and serve hot.

Step-1
