Namak Paare/vibsk-51

Ingredients:

1. All Purpose flour (Maida) : 500 g
2. Clarified Ghee (Desi Ghee) : 100 g
3. Carom Seeds : 1 and ½ tsp
4. Salt : To taste
5. Clarified Ghee/Any Edible Oil : For deep frying

Method:

  1. Add carom seeds and salt in all-purpose flour. Add clarified ghee and mix till it appears likebread crumbs.
  2. Then, add water and knead to make tight dough. Keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
  3. After 10 minutes, knead the dough again to make it soft.
  4. Then, divide the dough into three big equal balls. Now, take one dough-ball at a time and with rolling pin, roll them into make a big chapattis.
  5. Now, with a knife cut it into straight lines and then make a criss-cross pattern cutting it diagonally.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pan/wok. Drop a little dough in the heated oil, to check if the oil is ready for frying.
  7. Turn the flame to medium. Now, add few pieces at a time in the oil. Stir lightly to separate them.
  8. After ½ a minute, bring down the flame to low and fry till light brown.
  9. NamakPaare are fried, take them out on a tissue paper. Let them cool down and then, transfer them to air-tight container. You can store them up to one month.

Serve Namak Paare with hot tea.
