Namak Paare/vibsk-51

1. | All Purpose flour (Maida) | : | 500 g |
2. | Clarified Ghee (Desi Ghee) | : | 100 g |
3. | Carom Seeds | : | 1 and ½ tsp |
4. | Salt | : | To taste |
5. | Clarified Ghee/Any Edible Oil | : | For deep frying |
Method:
- Add carom seeds and salt in all-purpose flour. Add clarified ghee and mix till it appears likebread crumbs.
- Then, add water and knead to make tight dough. Keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, knead the dough again to make it soft.
- Then, divide the dough into three big equal balls. Now, take one dough-ball at a time and with rolling pin, roll them into make a big chapattis.
- Now, with a knife cut it into straight lines and then make a criss-cross pattern cutting it diagonally.
- Heat oil in a deep pan/wok. Drop a little dough in the heated oil, to check if the oil is ready for frying.
- Turn the flame to medium. Now, add few pieces at a time in the oil. Stir lightly to separate them.
- After ½ a minute, bring down the flame to low and fry till light brown.
- NamakPaare are fried, take them out on a tissue paper. Let them cool down and then, transfer them to air-tight container. You can store them up to one month.
Serve Namak Paare with hot tea.
