Matar-Aloo Pulao/vibsk-34

8. | Rice | : | 500g |
9. | Turmeric Powder | : | ½ tsp |
10. | Red Chilli Powder | : | 1 tsp |
11. | Black Cardamom | : | 1 |
12. | Whole Black Pepper | : | 7-8 |
13. | Cloves | : | 5-6 |
14. | Cumin Seeds | : | ¼ tsp |
15. | Salt | : | To taste |
16. | Clarified Ghee (Desi Ghee) | : | 1 tsp |
17. | Oil | : | 1 tbsp |
Method:
- Heat the oil in a pressure cooker.
- Add whole black pepper, black cardamom, cloves and cumin seeds.
- When it starts cracking, add chopped onions and fry. Bring down the flame to medium.
- Add green chillies. Fry till onions are soft.
- Then add diced potatoes, diced carrots and green peas. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add tomatoes and mix. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add rice to pressure cooker and mix well with vegetables. Add clarified ghee and mix well.
- Add 2 and ½ glasses of water. Mix well. Put the lid on pressure cooker and cook on high flame till 1 whistle.
- Bring down the flame to low and cook for 5-6 minutes. Put the flame off and leave the pressure cooker till all the steam is released.
- Pulao is ready. As vegetables settles on top, softly mix the rice with vegetables.
- Take out in a serving bowl. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with Pickles and Raita.
