Dry Cumin-Black Grams for Ashtami Prasad/vibsk-43

1. | Black Grams (Kale Chane) | : | 100 g (soaked overnight) |
2. | Cumin Seeds | : | 1 & ½ tsp |
3. | Dry Mango Powder | : | 1 & ½ tsp |
4. | Roasted Cumin Powder | : | 1 & ½ tsp |
5. | Red Chilli Powder | : | To taste |
6. | Coriander Powder | : | 2 tsp |
7. | Salt | : | To taste |
8. | Oil | : | 1 tbsp |
Method:
- Add salt and water to soaked black grams, and pressure cook.
- After 1 whistle, boil for 8-10 minutes on low flame.
- Black grams are boiled. Strain and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a wok. Add cumin seeds and roast. Bring the flame to low.
- Add coriander powder and stir.
- Add boiled black grams. Mix well.
- Add dry mango powder, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and salt (as we have already added salt while boiling, add salt accordingly). Mix well.
- Bring down the flame to medium and cook for 4-5 minutes.
- After 4-5 minutes, cumin-black grams are ready in.
On the pious occasion of Ashtami, serve dry cumin-black grams with puri and semolina pudding in Kanjaka Thali.
