Moong Dal Halwa/vibsk-50

Ingredients:

 1. Skinned Green Gram (Dhuli Moong Dal) : 200 g (soaked overnight)
 2. Khoa : 100 g
 3. Clarified Ghee : 200 ml
 4. Sugar : 150 g / as per your taste
 5. Milk : 1 small glass
 6. Raisins : 3 tsp
 7. Almonds : 10-15
 8. Cashews : 10-15
 9. Pistachios : 8-10

Method:

  1. Grind the soaked green gram (Moong Dal) without water to make fine batter.
  2. Make thin slices of almonds and pistachios. Break cashews in halves.
  3. Add clarified ghee in a wok. Add batter also. Mix well and roast on low flame.
  4. Initially the batter will get stuck to the wok. Scrape it and roast. Stir continuously and roast. It will take around 15-20 minutes to roast the batter.
  5. When batter has left the sides of the wok and separated from the ghee then it is roasted completely.
  6. Now, add almonds, cashews, pistachios and raisins to the wok and roast with batter for a minute. Save some almonds, cashews and pistachios for garnishing.
  7. Add milk and mix well. Cook till batter has soaked all the milk.
  8. Then, add khoa and mix well.
  9. Add sugar as per your taste and mix well.
  10. After adding sugar, cook for 1 minute and then take it off the flame. Halwa is hot, the sugar will melt in a while. Mix well again.
  11. Moong Dal Halwa is ready.

Garnish and serve hot.

Step-1
