Dry Cumin-Black Grams for Ashtami Prasad/vibsk-43

Ingredients:

 1. Black Grams (Kale Chane) : 100 g (soaked overnight)
 2. Cumin Seeds : 1 & ½ tsp
 3. Dry Mango Powder : 1 & ½ tsp
 4. Roasted Cumin Powder : 1 & ½ tsp
 5. Red Chilli Powder : To taste
 6. Coriander Powder : 2 tsp
 7. Salt : To taste
 8. Oil : 1 tbsp

Method:

  1. Add salt and water to soaked black grams, and pressure cook.
  2. After 1 whistle, boil for 8-10 minutes on low flame.
  3. Black grams are boiled. Strain and keep aside.
  4. Heat oil in a wok. Add cumin seeds and roast. Bring the flame to low.
  5. Add coriander powder and stir.
  6. Add boiled black grams. Mix well.
  7. Add dry mango powder, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and salt (as we have already added salt while boiling, add salt accordingly). Mix well.
  8. Bring down the flame to medium and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  9. After 4-5 minutes, cumin-black grams are ready in.

On the pious occasion of Ashtami, serve dry cumin-black grams with puri and semolina pudding in Kanjaka Thali.
